Important update on RBC Race for the Kids
After careful consideration and in light of the public health landscape surrounding COVID-19, we have made the decision to transition the 2020 RBC Race for the Kids event on Sunday, May 31, 2020 to a virtual one. The onsite celebration is at the heart of RBC Race for the Kids, and the decision to cancel the physical event wasn’t made lightly. However, the health and safety of participants, staff and volunteers is our top priority.
The virtual event has been designed to promote ongoing physical and mental wellness for you and your family during these unprecedented times. So, if you’re still looking for a way to engage your family and friends and support BC’s kids this May, here’s how you can get involved.
We can still make great strides for BC’s kids.
Since we can’t run together physically, we’ve launched a digital race that ends with a virtual celebration on May 31. And we’ve got some incredible supporters—from RBC Olympians to health care experts— who will be coming along with us this May to help inspire and engage you.
So, here’s how it works: Sign up here, and every Monday in May, keep an eye out for our email series that will share ways to practice mental wellness and safely get your steps in with your family. Check out the full month of activities in this printable calendar. The challenge? Use these activities as inspiration throughout the month as you do your best each day to get your daily steps in. Have some fun with it and be creative in how you strive to be your healthiest self.
Think of us as your fundraising coaches, too—as each participant will be given a fundraising page and digital assets that you can share through your social media channels to boost your virtual fundraising efforts.
Be sure to film how you’re hitting your goals—and don’t forget to tag us on social @bcchf @rbc #RBCRacefortheKidsBC as you get those steps in.
It goes without saying that we are facing unprecedented times that are full of uncertainty. But what remains certain is that you—our incredible supporters—are the reason we can take on many of the greatest challenges that face us. During this time when your generosity matters more than ever, we thank you for everything you do.
