Team Captains are the backbone of our event:
- They create their team online, whether it’s a group of friends, family, colleagues, or classmates
- They recruit others to join them in taking a step in support of BC Children’s Hospital
- They lead, model, and encourage their teammates in their fundraising efforts
- They’re the first line of communication if a walker has questions or needs help
On event day, Team Captains rally their team together, congratulate them on a job well done, and walk with those who need a friend. Team Captains recruit and cheerlead their team to raise funds for their charity.
T-shirt pick up is available on Friday, May 29 from 12:00pm–5:30pm, and on Saturday, May 30 from 10:00am–5:30pm in the gravel lot behind Nat Bailey Stadium.

All kids must be accompanied by a registered adult to take part in the race and post-event festival.
Well-socialized dogs are permitted to join you and your family at RBC Race for the Kids. If you choose to bring a dog, you are solely responsible for your dog’s actions. All dogs must be kept on a leash at all times during the event., and will need to start at the back of the pack.
For safety reasons, we do not allow any of the above on the route. Wheelchairs, strollers and wagons are welcome.
Yes, RBC Race for the Kids is designed to be wheelchair accessible. There is a wheelchair head start for both the 5K and 2K, just head to the front of the pack.
We suggest taking transit, biking, or carpooling as an alternative. A complimentary bike and gear check will also be available on race day so you can secure your bike safely with our staff. Alternatively, free parking is available at BC Children’s Hospital on race day, we suggest allowing 15-20 minutes to walk to the race site.
Lend a hand by registering or logging into your MyVolunteerpage. We have various pre-event and event day opportunities that include registration, route marshal, water stations, entertainment zone and much more. Need help? Check out our Volunteer Registration ‘How To’ Handbook.
